It is Music in Our Schools Month and we are.celebrating by having 3 CONCERTS this week! Tues. 6:30- HS "pops" concert, Wed. - 3:10- Elem. Instrumental concert celebrating the 100th day of school, and Thurs. 6:30- MS musical with dessert bar- $5:00 Help spread the word and thanks for supporting the music program!

Did you know there are only 40 days until the Fine Arts Fair? Our Fine Arts Fair is a magical night of art displays, musical performances, and Senior Project Presentations. What are senior projects, you may ask? Senior Project is a capstone experience that our seniors must do to graduate from Edgemont. The project is extremely taxing on students, requiring hours of work in the form of a ten-page research paper, a minimum of 20 hours spent on a product of their choice, work with an advisor and mentor, and two separate presentations in front of a judges' panel. For the next 40 days, we will periodically release information about one of our seniors and their respective projects. While other schools are cutting their senior project graduation requirements, Edgemont High School continues to honor its high expectations for students. Each year, our seniors produce awesome projects. If you check out the link below, you can see the link to this year’s projects thus far and projects from years past. To begin our look at the senior projects and to start our 40-day countdown until the Fine Arts Fair, let’s take a moment to appreciate Senior Jackie Heisler's project. The Primary Learners are exploring erosion. Today, they watched what could happen to "land" after repeated rainstorms.

Ms. Brotherton's class just finished up their weather and climate unit by designing and building hurricane safe structures. Pictures are of students building their structures and the results after we tested them.

To any and all 5th-8th grade students and parents, we will be having our Track parents meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27th at 5:30 pm. If you are unable to attend, please contact Mr. Esker or send your child to Mr. Esker to get any missed details. We're excited for a fruitful track season!

To all middle schoolers going into 7th or 8th grade, here is an opportunity for you! Our Dakota Dreams is once again hosting a FREE Career Explorations Summer Camp. You will stay on campus at a nearby college for multiple days and explore various possible careers through tons of hands-on activities and experiences. Middle schoolers should have heard about this opportunity already, but please feel free to contact Mr. Esker if you have any other questions!

the Takini boys basketball team will not be playing this evening. Tuesday, February 13th. we will use our varsity officials to officiate the JV girls game. in order to do this, we cannot start the JV girls basketball game until 5:30 p.m. to accommodate the official's travel. the varsity girls game will follow the JV game.

The Primary Class got to visit Massa Dental Offices today. They enjoyed seeing all the tools the dentist and hygienists use.
