The Edgemont School District continues its proud tradition of serving locally raised beef through the district’s Beef-to-School program, which brings fresh, high-quality protein directly from area ranches to our students’ lunch trays. This year’s donated beef, generously provided by the Fall River Feedyard and the Four Three Ranch, was of such exceptional quality that it would have been graded prime had it gone through official grading. The Four Three Ranch has now donated three animals over the years, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to supporting local youth and nourishing our school community.

The Fall River County Ag Committee has also played a vital role in this effort, contributing funds used to cover the cost of processing. These partnerships make it possible for Edgemont students to enjoy premium, locally produced beef as part of their daily meals. In addition to beef, the school continues to purchase locally sourced pork from Wall Meats, ensuring that our food service program supports area producers while providing nutritious options for students.

The Edgemont School District extends heartfelt appreciation to the Fall River Feedyard, Four Three Ranch, the Fall River County Ag Committee, and all community partners who make this program possible. Knowing that we are feeding our children quality protein raised right here in our region is something we take great pride in. Anyone interested in contributing, whether by donating an animal for butcher or funds for processing, may contact Melody Printz or Amy Ferley at the school.
